Giancarlo Stanton is not getting traded to the Giants https://www.thesfgiantsstore.com/Brandon_Crawford_Mens_Jersey-36 . I feel like that disclaimer is necessary before every one of these posts, but I still write them because people click and I shameless. Unless the Giants are willing to eat nearly all of the $300 million remaining on his contract which they aren they won have the prospects to compete with the other teams. Bob Nightengale adds another wrinkle to this tale, though. While it obvious that the Giants would have at least some interest in Stanton, he suggested in an interview on KNBR that the feeling is mutual. he Dodgers have no interest. They are trying to cut payroll and everything else. He not going to the Dodgers, there no chance of that happening, so I think it either San Francisco, St. Louis or Philadelphia, and San Francisco is easily his first choice.s far as I know, Nightengale has never been wrong Juan Marichal Black Jersey. Never. Been. Wrong. What makes this an intriguing wrinkle is that I can believe it. San Francisco really is a nice place to play. Lots of fans. Cosmopolitan city. Stanton is from Southern California, so it be a return to the best coast. And when it comes to ATT Park, Stanton has already proven that he isn intimidated. Stanton came back in a minute or two, and that when it happened. It sailed on a parabola over the left-field bleachers, onto a causeway, landing in a tiny little replica of ATT Park, where kids play whiffle ball. That where they put the playground because baseballs are not supposed to go there. The children were never supposed to be in jeopardy. There was no reason for anyone think they were ever going to be in jeopardy. When they designed the play area, someone had to have asked if they were worried about home runs landing in it, and everyone probably laughed.Ie seen him spit in the face of ATT Park, and Ie seen ATT Park say, hank you, sir, may I have another?” He would be fine here. Where I take issue with the rumor, though, is this part of Nightengale interview You know theye got plenty of moneyThey ... kind of don. They would blow past the salary-cap tax with Stanton this year, and they would owe well over $100 million to over-30 players in 2020, and that without factoring in a possible extension for Madison Bumgarner. The Giants used to be able to count on sellouts, but them days is long gone. Counting on Stanton to be the dinger salve for their wounds makes a certain amount of sense, but it a huge risk. Like, the kind of risk that ends up with a garage sale in a few years because the team can pay the rent https://www.thesfgiantsstore.com/Derek_Law_Orange_Jersey-299 . On the other hand ... dingers! Stanton has a no-trade clause, so if this is accurate, it important. It wouldn matter if the Cardinals or Phillies wanted him if he wants to live in California, like a responsible person. If he wants to be on the Giants, and if the Giants are willing to pay for him, there might be something there. There is not something there. But you clicked. And, more importantly, you at least thought of Stanton on the Giants for a few minutes. It allowed you to dream. It like the gift of a $1 lottery ticket, and you got to dream about your house in Tiburon for a little bit. There no reason to be ashamed. Later in the article, Nightengale suggests that if the Giants can get Stanton, that theyl definitely get J.D. Martinez. That probably worthy of its own article, but I really can see that. He going to get goofy-town money and cost draft picks, while being older and coming off an unexpectedly brilliant season. For now, though, focus on the idea that Stanton might want to come to the Giants. You might say that I a dreamer, but I not the only one.

In the baseball world, late January is typically a dead period in the off-season. In years that don start with 20 and end in 18, most of the trades and signings have been completed and teams and fans are spending the dead period looking towards pitchers and catchers reporting in February. One way for us fans to get through these last few days of winter before the start of Spring Training is to see how the future of the organization stacks up against the rest of the league in annual pre-season top 100 rankings. If you have been paying attention over the last week, you would have noticed that both Baseball America and Keith Law both released their top 100 lists. This time, it was MLB Pipeline turn to release their take on the top 100 prospects in baseball. If you read through the rankings, youl notice that there isn a ton of difference between the 3 https://www.redsapprel.com/Rookie_Davis_Replica_Jersey-316 . The Reds still have Nick Senzel (7) in the top 10 and another in the top 30 with Hunter Green at 21, his highest ranking of the three lists. Taylor Trammell once again made the top 50, coming in at 43. Rounding out the top 100 were Jesse Winker at 82 and Tyler Mahle at 84. While there isn much else to say about how these guys performed over the last season, this list once again shows us the depth of the farm system. It also shows how important the last two drafts have been to the Reds. All three of the Reds prospects in the top 50 were drafted in either the 2016 or 2017 draft, with one of them looking to make an impact as early as this season Raisel Iglesias Replica Jersey. While this rebuild has been slow, and oftentimes frustrating, small things like these prospect rankings show us that there is something to be exited about in the future.

Lance McCullers Jr., who threw Saturday for the first time in six days, could return to the Astros' rotation during next week's seven-game road trip to Oakland and Seattle.McCullers, who's on the 10-day disabled list because of lower back discomfort, will throw a bullpen session in the coming days before the Astros determine the exact day for his next start https://www.diamondbacksstore.com/Yasmany_Tomas_White_Jersey-147 ."There's still some things he needs to do in order to satisfy everyone that he's ready to start, but certainly the initial goal would be for him to start on the road trip somewhere," Astros manager A.J. Hinch said on Saturday. Hinch declined to speculate as to which of the two road cities McCullers would start in but acknowledged he's "pretty confident" Brad Peacock, Francis Martes and Mike Fiers will start the first three games of the Astros' four-game series in Oakland that begins Monday. David Paulino is tentatively lined up to start the Thursday afternoon series finale unless McCullers returns that day. McCullers, who is first eligible to return from the DL on Monday, ranks fourth among qualified American League starters in ERA (2.58) and strikeouts per nine innings (10.45) and second in groundball percentage (63.0) behind only rotation mate Dallas Keuchel (67.4). Odds and ends Keuchel (neck discomfort), who as of Saturday had still yet to resume throwing, will travel with the Astros on their road trip to Oakland and Seattle. The Astros aren't expecting to arrive at their hotel in San Francisco until close to 3 a.m. Monday because of their Sunday night game at Minute Maid Park.In Oakland the Astros are in line to face righthander Daniel Gossett on Monday, righthander Sonny Gray on Tuesday, lefthander Sean Manaea on Wednesday and righthander Jesse Hahn on Thursday Randy Johnson White/Capri Jersey. NEW YORK - If the Astros fail to win the two consecutive games they require to advance to the World Series, their American League Championship Series against the New York Yankees will be remembered for the disappearing act of their major league-best offense.Their offensive struggles in the ALCS reached a nadir in a 5-0 loss in Game 5 on Wednesday night at Yankee Stadium. Shut out for the first time in the playoffs since the final game of the 2005 World Series Andy Pettitte Jersey, they managed only four hits a day after mustering just three. A third consecutive defeat in the Bronx left them headed home on the brink of elimination. The Yankees lead the series, three games to two. Game 6 is Friday at Minute Maid Park. The Astros will start their best pitcher in Justin Verlander. His performance will go only so far if their bats can't hit the Yankees' best, Luis Severino. Now Playing Eugenia Rios is a die hard Astros fan battling brain cancer. She hopes to see the Astros win a championship. Media Steve Gonzales, Houston Chronicle On Wednesday night, Yankees starter Masahiro Tanaka shut down the Astros for the first seven innings before handing the baton to reliever Tommy Kahnle. The Astros were 0-for-8 when batting with runners in scoring position. The regression from the regular season has been staggering. An offense that produced 5.5 runs per game has scored only nine times in five ALCS games. The Astros batted .282 with a .346 on-base percentage and .478 slugging percentage in the regular season. They are slashing a putrid .147 .234 .213 in this series.Carlos Correa's solo home run in Game 2 at Minute Maid Park is the Astros' only longball of this series. They hit 1.47 homers per game in the regular season. A sampling of the individual numbers looks just as ugly.George Springer is 2-for-18.Josh Reddick is 0-for-17.Alex Bregman is 2-for-17.Marwin Gonzalez is 2-for-15.Carlos Beltran is 1-for-12.Brian McCann is 0-for-10 Marwin Gonzalez Men's Jersey. The anemic Astros offense left ace lefthander Dallas Keuchel little margin for error Wednesday. And for the first time in nine career starts against these Yankees, he was knocked around.Keuchel, who had allowed seven earned runs in his 57 2 3 previous innings against the Yankees, allowed four in only 4 2 3 frames Wednesday. The Yankees tagged him with seven hits https://www.astrosfansgear.com/Dallas_Keuchel_Authentic_Jersey-103 , including two doubles. Three singles in a five-batter span in the fifth chased Keuchel from the game. The outing inflated Keuchel's career ERA against the Yankees from an incredible 1.09 to 1.59. He had allowed more than two earned runs in a start against them only once before, on Aug. 21, 2014, when he gave up just three in eight innings. The second inning contrasted the states of these two offenses. In the top of the frame, the Astros squandered a leadoff double by Yuli Gurriel. In the bottom, the Yankees capitalized on a two-out double by Starlin Castro when Greg Bird ripped a single to the right-field corner.Gonzalez provided another prime scoring opportunity for the Astros in the fifth. After ripping a single to right field off Tanaka, he advanced to second on a wild pitch. McCann worked a walk to bring up the top of the order, which during most of the regular season would've meant doom for the pitcher. But Springer and Reddick both struck out against Tanaka. Springer was caught looking at a fastball at the knees on the outside corner. Reddick chased a splitter outside.Tanaka struck out eight and issued only one walk. Keuchel struck out eight in his 4 2 3 and walked only one but his outing was doomed by the Yankees' two-run fifth.Chase Headley began the Yanks' biggest rally with a one-out single on which he reached second after Bregman's throw skipped past Gurriel. A groundout by Brett Gardner brought Keuchel one out away from escaping unscathed. With Judge due up next, Astros manager A.J. Hinch jogged out to the mound and the infield convened around Keuchel on the mound. The meeting was brief. Keuchel pitched to Judge but carefully. A walk set the stage for Gary Sanchez https://www.astrosfansgear.com/James_Hoyt_Authentic_Jersey-398 , one of the Yankees' Game 4 heroes.Sanchez ripped a single down the left-field line that scored Headley. Didi Gregorius then ran the count full before singling up the middle just past a diving second baseman Jose Altuve. The three consecutive New York baserunners prompted the end of Keuchel's outing. As he walked toward the dugout, the Yankees fans sitting behind the Astros' dugout waved him goodbye. Will Harris relieved Keuchel and induced an inning-ending fly out from Aaron Hicks. When Harris encountered trouble in the sixth, Brad Peacock bailed him out. Peacock, who hadn't pitched since his Game 3 start in the ALDS at Boston, logged 1 1 3 innings and gave up a solo blast to Sanchez.
